Good ViiBE is the Essence of All Business and it’s Really that Simple! 💗
Business has become overly complex, with a focus on siloed aspects like intel, strategy, and leadership. ImagineerShip offers a holistic approach, unifying these components to cultivate strong bonds with consumers and teams, ultimately simplifying business and driving growth.
People Think Business is so Many Different Things that They Miss Out on the One Thing it Truly is.
Business has become so many things that we’ve lost track of what it really is. Business is by nature simple, but we’ve managed to complicate it beyond comprehension.
In our quest for understanding business, we’ve dissected and broken it into what are believed to be relevant parts manageable for the human mind.
Everyone would recognize and acknowledge that intel, strategy and leadership are the 3 essential cornerstones of business (as described in another ImagineerShip article). It’s equally straightforward to conclude that they need to work in orchestration to unleash the synergies driving full impact. Yet, we don’t have a single word in the dictionary which encompasses or captures the unification of them.
Siloes and departmentalization are the enemies of good ViiBE
Strolling through all the books available in the library or browsing through LinkedIn posts, will reveal that the 3 cornerstones live very separate lives…you can find excellent material on each of them, but you will be hard challenged to find any which helps you to understand how they can play together.
Instead, the permutations when attempting to combine all the different interpretations of each cornerstone to form one holistic and simplified approach to business has almost made it “rocket science”. The overall complexity isn’t exactly reduced when adding all the “buzz words and terms” which are meant to make us “smarter” on a subsection of a cornerstone. Consequently, people are, for good reasons, ending up feeling confused and frustrated to an extent where companies are suffering.
We can’t see the forest for the trees and the forest isn’t saved one tree at a time. Our quest to break business down into manageable parts, has led to just the opposite and it’s the main reason why transformations don’t happen at a satisfactory pace. The main reason that companies feel lost and can’t reach consumers in the ShopperVerse. The whole is simpler and greater than the sum of its parts…but where has “the whole” gone?
Companies are losing touch with consumers
The stories of major and minor companies complaining that consumers have become disloyal, or lost spending power, are more common than not. The real truth is that companies have lost touch with consumers and given them no reason to display loyal behaviors. Companies need to reach the realization that intel, strategy and leadership must be unified in the pursuit of growing good ViiBE leading to the cultivation of consumer and team bonds. Einstein said that we must make everything as simple as possible but not simpler…cultivating good ViiBE bonds is exactly what business should be all about. Simply.
ImagineerShip unifies intel (sense consumers), strategy (think consumers) and leadership (feel consumers) with focus on cultivating good ViiBE team and consumer bonds. It’s business made as simple as possible but not simpler. It’s the whole which is far greater than the sum of its parts with an understanding of the impact and cascading effects when changing any part.
ImagineerShip is insanely cool because it synchronizes the minds of people, an organization, around one purpose. It’s the quintessence of all the 1000s of variations you find on intel, strategy and leadership, when you compile them into one orchestrated approach to doing business. It’s how a book on business would look like if you compressed all the best business thinking, across the 3 cornerstones, into one single book where everything plays together in perfect harmony.
The sum is greater than its parts
Let’s try to understand the power of holistic thinking through a very personal story which most of us can relate to. In 2007, my mother was suffering from persistent indigestion. For a longer period, she couldn’t keep food down. She was finally diagnosed with and treated for a helicobacter infection. It didn’t solve the problem. The doctors claimed it had evolved into a psychological response as she had become fearful of how her stomach would react to food. My father was a veterinarian and after many years in the pharmaceutical industry, he had also become an expert on human medicine. He didn’t believe the diagnosis and pushed for the doctors to dig deeper. Specialists performed gastroscopy to learn if there was something blocking my mother’s esophagus (the food tube). They didn’t find any issues.
On request, the doctors shared detailed findings with my father, and he advised them to go deeper with the camera during a new gastroscopy. When the doctors full of curiosity and skepticism asked why, they were surprised with the answer: “I’m a veterinarian and since dogs don’t talk, I must think holistically and read all signals. So, I’ve been measuring how long time it takes before my wife returns food and found that any blockage must be further down than where you looked!” The new gastroscopy revealed a cancerogenic tumor close to the duodenum. It was surgically removed and at the age of 82 my mother has been cancer-free for 17 years! Saved by holistic thinking.
If you have a backache, which type of specialist do you visit? Do you feel certain any of them will diagnose the true nature of your problem or would you feel concerned that each specialist would be more prone to treat your symptoms from an “own world perspective”? The challenge is that everyone is right from their own specialized perspective, but they may all be wrong from a holistic perspective. It’s the same in business. We’ve broken everything down into parts, which can be easily understood in isolation, but we end up creating complexities because the parts don’t fit together, and we don’t understand the knock-on effects between them.
ImagineerShip is Good ViiBE beautifully orchestrated
Think about ImagineerShip as how the world’s best symphony orchestra would be performing under ideal conditions. Imagine how the orchestra all the time receives streaming audience (consumer) feedback to SENSE which tones and tunes are preferred. Imagine how the orchestra is enabled to dynamically THINK and change the repertoire and style without losing its identity (positioning and unique differentiated brand story). Imagine how the conductor and every musician can make the audience FEEL the bondability of the orchestra as their passion flows through the air in perfect harmony. Imagine the audience experiencing a ViiBE so good that they begin to feel a bond with the orchestra…an urge to come back repeatedly. Now transfer that feeling of your best concert ever to how you do business. You’ve just imagined ImagineerShip. 💗
